ALPRs and Flock: Is it worth it?

Responsible use of surveillance tech (i.e. ALPRs, Flock) requires wisdom to differentiate what is being observed. A level of societal awareness that we strongly feel we are not evolved to as of yet. Wisdom is something we don't have at a level of perfection that would be required to mass micro surveil and be able to differentiate one surveilled action that is innocuous from another surveilled action that is harmful, consistently.

Who's values will be enforced? Will it be fair? Will it be just?

Our concern is escalating this fact of unavoidable imperfection at this time with automation designed on our imperfect wisdom, spread widely, we are not responsible neither as human or machine, nor prepared for the level of unintended consequences this mass experiment will continue to bring.

Those marginalized have been and will continue to experience the worst effects of surveillance. These convenient instruments of power will not only be a mass expansion of the visible prison in our daily environments, but will expand the internalized prison within our minds too.
